I am a queer Vietnamese artist originally from the Chicago area. Normally, I work in research and am in graduate school, but art is my escape.
I struggle with motor and spatial dysgraphia, so anything involving drawing/writing by hand is a rather stressful and unpleasant task for myself. My artwork tends to be extremely sporadic as a result, and it is a raw embodiment of my present emotions and feelings during the time of creation.
I am heavily inspired by both older styles (i.e. Baroque, academic) and the works of my peers, and I like to describe my style as surreal expressionism. My work often contrasts vibrant colors with dark themes to emphasize both my scattered process and my range of experiences with my mental health.
